Background:

Kenora Chiefs Advisory is a member of the community Prescription Drug Abuse Awareness Taskforce. The task force is made up of twenty community organization representative. The task force was looking at getting an awareness billboard to put up on the east entrance to Kenora. There are no funding attached to the Task force so in order to purchase this billboard there would need to be a fund raising initiative required.

Here is the fall feast poster, please hand it out to anyone that may want to attend, this is an open feast so the more the merrier. Looking forward to see you all on the 13th with our yummy food dishes. Oh also the barge will be waved for that day, just simply say you are attending the KCA fall feast…YAY!

4 Day Grief Pathway to Healing Program
Monday October 24 – Thursday October 27, 2011

We will explore the following:

Grief Cycle
What is grief?
Common responses to grief
What is unresolved grief?
Myths and beliefs in regards to grief

Eligibility Criteria:

Co-ed program 18 years and older
9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. daily
No cost
Limited to 12 participants
Lunch provided each day
Transportation not provided

Location: Trapper’s Building, Grassy Narrows

Wills and Estates Presentations

Marie LaBelle, Lands & Trust Services Officer from Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Canada (formerly INAC) will be in the Kenora area next week delivering information on Wills and Estates as it pertains to Status Indians Living On-Reserve.

If you are interested in taking in a session, here is the schedule:
