Children’s Services

Healthy Babies, Healthy Children

The goal of the HBHC Program is to assist all Aboriginal families to provide the best opportunities for healthy development for children 0-6 years of age, through family home visiting, education, and coordination/access to services.

An equally important goal is to ensure that the program addressed the needs of children at risk, to ensure that they have access to services and support that will address their needs.

The HBHC Program is voluntary and open to any Aboriginal family that requests the service. Aboriginal families may also access the provincial program via the local public health unit.

FAS/D

The vision and ultimate purpose of the FAS/D Program is to create conditions in which maternal and infant health will flourish.

The goals of the FAS/D Program are to (1) prevent FAS/FAE births, and (2) increase the knowledge, skills, and quality of life of FAS/FAE affected children, mothers, fathers, and families.

Aboriginal Child Nutrition

The ACN Program assist Aboriginal families in the developing and maintaining healthy, and nutritious meal plans. Placing emphasis in providing parents with awareness to healthy eating habits is important in the development of children.
